TRAILS

England’s longest footpath and a National Trail is the South West Coast Path. It stretches for 630 miles starting in Somerset and ending at Poole Harbour in Dorset. So Cornwall is ideally situated and we are extremely lucky to have 300 miles of this stunning pathway right on our doorstep. Cornwall also has over 2000 miles of inland paths so there is no shortage of secret places for you and your family to discover while you get off the beaten track. We know many of our customers love to walk or run, some with their dogs, so below are two recommended groups which will help you enjoy the county to the max. Tackle the Saints Way or just stroll on a beach - the choice is all yours.

Visit Cornwall also have a large library of walks for you to enjoy listed on their website.

We can also highly recommend iWalk Cornwall which is a collection of circular and guided walks on a mobile app. Created by two brothers who are passionate about all the amazing things you can see in Cornwall. With 258 walks available, it took more than 5000 miles of walking to produce.

You need to download a guided walk app for Android and Apple, which is a convenient way of tracking where you are on the walk, reducing the chances of getting lost and allowing you to concentrate more fully on your surroundings. It has been described as "like having a walk guide in your pocket".

The walks are chargeable but they are really worth it and the income is spent on maintaining the routes and keeping the app updated. The app includes a free walk (Lanhydrock Gardens) and a simulation mode so you can try out the functionality for yourself before purchasing any walks.

iWalk Cornwall is a social enterprise run on charitable principles, working to make Cornwall's natural environment and heritage more accessible to both locals and visitors and consequently more valued, appreciated and ultimately protected. They want to help maintain Cornwall's footpath network through collaboration with the Local Authority Countryside Access Team and support other local businesses and organisations in making Cornwall a valued, sustainable, innovative and welcoming region whilst promoting the benefits to physical and mental well-being of walking, Cornwall's natural beauty and its fascinating history.
