Hello my name is Hamish and I am only a year old. My picture was taken at Porth Saxon (also known as Porth Sawsen) and is a great small beach near the Helford River. The beach is dog friendly so we can visit all year, sometimes we park at Mawnan Smith which is less than a mile away and walk the footpath through Carwinion Woods and Valley - it’s really off the beaten track so it’s not too busy in the summer either!

Mawnan Smith is a small village with the Red Lion Pub in the centre. Trebah Gardens and Glendurgan are also close by so you could make a day of it easily out and about near the Helford. There is also a really picturesque drive through Port Navas alongside the Helford - windy roads but so beautiful.
